“Allow me to re-introduce myself, my name is HOV…” Scratch that! Hahahahaha I have always wanted to say that. You already know I am not Jay Z. I don’t even have bars;) 

I am Habiba, a curious and conscious sistah – at least, I would like to think so – living in Toronto, sprinkling Black Girl Magic, and striving to be better every day. Tried and tested. Certified warrior.

In this journey called Life University, I believe that we can always learn from each other, and with this blog, I am not positioning myself as a teacher attempting to tell you what to think, what to believe or how to live your life. Rather, I am a fellow student sharing her homework with the rest of the class: you.

I laugh a lot and cry, too. I am in physical pain 24/7 but I also have a deep passion for life. Overcoming adversity has become a big part of my story and I am thankful for every single hurdle encountered and every single lesson learned along the way.

I am interested in a lot of things, intrigued by a lot of things, I wonder about a lot of things and so, here I am, writing about my broken body, my busy mind, this, that, everything and anything.
